Sabyasachi Bride at The National Museum of Women in the Arts by DC Wedding Photographer

One of the most rewarding parts about extended wedding celebrations like this one are getting to meet the families days before the wedding. I spent four days with Sapna and Jonathan capturing the initial arrival of the families, Mendhi, Sangeet, and wedding. It was a beautiful sight to see everything coming together throughout the days, as their families showered them with love in every direction.

The wedding day started early in the morning at the Grand Hyatt in Washington D.C. for the getting ready. Both Sapna & Jonathan decided to not have a bridal party, but instead were surrounded by those closest to them. Sapna had her dream come true and had the most beautiful dress specially customized by Sabyasachi, who also designed Priyanka Chopra’s wedding dress.

From there it was a quick walk over to the National Museum of Women in the Arts where their ceremony and reception took place. Sapna and I went to a private gallery space on the 2nd floor where we waited for Jonathan to arrive, while she finished some last minute touches on her vows. It was there where we placed Jonathan facing away from Sapna with his eyes closed, so that the couple could have their first look. I captured a few photos there, but stepped away so that they could have some privacy during such a special moment. From there it was off to the ceremony which was on the main floor. The museum was the perfect backdrop for the beautiful flower arrangement by Pensee’s florals that was at the center of the aisle.

For now, take a look below at how the rest of the day unfolded. Thank you so much to everyone on both sides of the family.
